Google India has announced the first cohort of 20 startups that have been selected under its  Google for Startups Accelerator Women Founders program. 

Google India informed that it received close to 400 applications and out of which, 20 women-led startups have been selected for the first cohort. It further stated that its women-focused accelerator program would help these startups in areas such as — access to capital, resolving problems in hiring talent, mentorship and other allied challenges faced by women entrepreneurs.

Besides, Google India’s accelerator program will also host workshops and provide support to startups in areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud, UX, Android, web, product strategy and growth. It will further connect them with a global community of women entrepreneurs.

Google India’s Google for Startups Accelerator Women Founders program was launched in June this year with a focus on women-led sector-agonistic early-stage and growth-stage startups. 

At the time of its launch, Google India told Inc42 that it looked to launch two cohort-based programs focusing on Indian women entrepreneurs in a year.

Focusing on the recently added 20 startups, here is the list of those women-led startups that made it to the first cohort of Google India’s Startups Accelerator Women Founders programme.

Aspire for Her

Aspire for Her is a women-focused online job platform. The startup offers career resources, mentorship and employment opportunities to females across all sectors. It aims to add 1 Mn women to the country’s workforce by 2025.

Brown Living 

Founded In: 2019

Headquarters: Mumbai

Brown Living is a sustainable lifestyle and food brand. It offers a slew of products ranging from clothes to home decor products to baked food. 

CoLLearn Education

Founded In: 2019

Headquarters: Bengaluru 

Edtech startup CoLLearn provides celebrity-led live courses and mentorship programs in the field of sports and finance. Some of its courses include — python for finance, cricket umpiring, football analytics, and multimedia sports journalism, among others. 

Commudle

Founded In: 2020

Headquarters: Delhi NCR

Commudle is an online community platform that helps business organisations build as well as  scale their software developer teams. The startup claims that the partnered companies can see 100x increase in community engagements and 10x surge in the efficiency of DevRel (developer relations). 

Dubverse

Headquarters: Delhi NCR

Dubverse is an artificial intelligence-enabled video dubbing platform. The startup claims to dub videos in more than 30 languages.

Elda Health

Elda Health is a full-stack women-focused healthcare startup offering research-backed wellness solutions to women suffering from menopause. 

Fitbots

FreeStand

FreeStand is an online business-to-business (B2B) marketplace for FMCG product sampling. It helps businesses launch, scale, monitor, and manage product sampling campaigns.

Women focussed neobank LXME offers savings, lending and investment services to women, thus, making them financially independent.

MeMeraki

MeMeraki is an online platform that helps rural artisans become content creators. The startup offers live art workshops and masterclasses focussed on traditional arts. Besides, it also allows artists to list their paintings and sell them on the platform.
