It is started by three NIT Allahabad graduates who quit their jobs in MNCs to create more value. Their first startup, eSparSha, was into custom merchandising successfully for the last 3 years. With a strong urge to use technology as an enabler and ease the process to make customized t-shirts for themselves, they came up with MyDreamstore.in.
MyDreamStore offers design support, advertising and consulting services also.
It takes your endeavor and vision earnestly. It calls your design a “campaign”. Once you launch a campaign, i.e. register with a design, you can appraise the world of your aspiration and purpose. You can narrate in the design profile about your campaign, link to your website or the cause and collect pre-orders. And if you don’t have a design, nothing to worry! You can “create your perfect item” in less than 2 minutes using the MyDreamStore’s online designer by working with the library of over 10,000 pieces of clip art and more than 50 fonts.
The fret about profits and losses is also completely taken care of. There is a requirement for “tipping point”, i.e. you decide the number of shirts you plan on selling. This is the minimum you need to sell for the t-shirts to get printed. This poses “no risk for the buyer” also as they will be charged only if the goal is reached. You can continue to sell t-shirts past your goal until your campaign ends. Once it ends, MyDreamStore handles printing and all the shipping and you get a check for the profit!
With eSparSha being a hit, MyDreamStore has a good base market. Also, the enterprise is fast progressing. “We see this venture to be greatly scaling as the incentive for the sellers is unparallel. “In 3yrs we see about 1000 campaigns being created each day and each campaign would contribute to a ticket size of INR 20000 on average. The figures seem very promising, said Karthik Venkat, co-founder, MyDreamstore.
The startup is streaming profits and funds to improvise the user interface and have a strong team and branding. It hosts design competitions, workshops, online blogging, adwords, etc. and is expanding core marketing associations with design institutes. With its corporate office in Hyderabad they have remarkable sales from Hyderabad amongst other cities. They are already tied up with organizations like CRY, TFI, etc. and many more clubs.
Currently working with a team of 8 people, MyDreamStore for now has only launched T-shirts with backend set for 50 products, which it will be launching over period of time as per customer needs.
