Backed by Guerilla Ventures, a tech startup – Comet Core Inc. has built the world’s first buoyant smartphone – Comet. This smartphone is seemingly the answer to “What lies beyond water resistant smartphones?”
Talking of his reason behind building a buoyant smartphone, Founder & CEO Comet Core , Prashanth Raj Urs says, “Mobile Technology has been constantly evolving from Pagers – Antenna Phones – Camera Phones – Smartphones – Smartphones with Gorilla Glass – Dustproof Smartphones – Water Resistant Smartphones and now, with comet we aim to introduce the next step to Water Resistant Phones – the buoyant Smartphones.”
California-based company was founded by Prashanth Raj Urs in September, 2014. Other team members include, Matthias Mande (President and Chief Business Development Officer), Ian Brewster (Chief Operating Officer), Gareth Tilley (Chief Marketing Officer), Allen Nejah (Technical Advisor) and Lowden McLean Owen (Legal Advisor).
Comet will cost between $300-$375 depending on whether consumers choose the 16 or 32GB option.

Bubble messenger- It is special chat messenger for Comet users, with features like gender-specific graphic templates. For example, If you want to send a flower to your friend and you’re registered as a girl on comet. The phone will have an animated girl to offer the flower on your friend’s screen.
Dual Camera- Phone allow users to click photos from both front and rear camera at the same time.
Mood Recognition- Comet contains biometric gauze to sense the mood changes of its user and accordingly change colour.
Voice Encryption- Phone comes with an installed Quantum Lock, which utilizes military grade 256bit AES to encrypt all voice communications.

According to (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, smartphone vendors shipped a total of 334.4 Mn smartphones worldwide in the first quarter of 2015 (1Q15), up 16.0% from the 288.3Mn units in 1Q14 but down by 11.4% from the 377.6Mn units shipped in 4Q14.
Comet is expected to be launched in Germany, India, North America, Canada, Complete Middle East,Philippines, Nigeria and U.k by the early 2016.
