If someone wants to sell their used stuff there are websites like OLX and Quicker, but what about if you want to just exchange stuff with people. Adalbdal.com, is an online platform positioned on centuries old “Barter System” , recently launched by ex-Zopnow BK Birla. Its a platform where people can exchange their used products across the globe.
We live in a society where we waste lots of resources in our mad rush of consumerism. As per a research, 20-30% of products in our homes will never get used. It might be old books, clothes, gadgets, baby items and many more. With a goal is to make people realize that and put those things to use, if not for themselves, for others, “We have an opportunity to disrupt commerce as Airbnb has disrupted the hotel business. Just imagine a day where few million products are being exchanged every day across the globe. It is equivalent of saving so many resources which would have gone into building them,” said Birla.
How Can You Use it?
People can easily exchange products that no more of any use to them using Adalbdal, one just need to upload the product on the website and then share it social media accounts so that their friends and family can see it. One can check out what others have uploaded which they can exchange by meeting offline.

As the platform is all about exchanging stuff and thus no monetary transaction is involved. “What if you could exchange a book you have already read for a cycling water bottle you have been planning to buy. It will be a win-win scenario and will also help in reducing the depletion of our planet’s resources. The only thing you will have to overcome to make it happen is that everything is not just about money and this is quite contrary to what you have learnt from your childhood,” says Birla.
As it might happen that people find it difficult while exchanging stuff due to low proximity, the website has integrated location features, when any user upload something, after figuring out location of the user and when that user look for something they are clearly informed how far it is from them. Thus this helps with people meeting up and making the exchange happen.
For now, Focussed on just making the idea and the startup yet to add monetization model to it.
We believe Adalbdal is surely going disrupt the market of second sales. Long story short Adalbdal is going to be the AirBnB for second sales market. A future where things that don’t matter to us are with people who actually need them. Say goodbye to junk!
