This article takes a look at some of the key stats for top commerce sites in India. Most of this data is picked up from the publicly claimed numbers by respective ecom sites included here. I am not challenging those claimed numbers but simply presenting the comparison here.

India’s M-Commerce market size is estimated to be be approx $2.5bn in 2014

One thing is pretty clear — mobile is becoming an important platform for driving the online commerce growth in India. However I believe that most people currently transacting on mobile are first experiencing it on desktop and that trend would continue for couple of more years. Mobile only shoppers would soon emerge and that would change the landscape completely. I reckon year 2016 will be a year of mobile overtaking desktop in all commerce related KPIs
