B2B startups are back in the game, with a bang! They’re booming with a great pace and that’s true. As always, Silicon Valley has led the boom. The important sectors which are observing a boom in the B2B startups are Logistics, Analytics, Big Data, Health Care, and FinTech.

This time B2B startups have taken inspiration from B2C startups. They are focusing on providing a beautiful experience to the businesses and not just an overloaded hard to use product. They are treating their businesses as individuals and not clients. The customers are not just large enterprises with loads of cash but also young startups just like them. Blurring the line between Sales and Marketing, these startups are now working on the entire marketplace and strengthening their brands. UI/UX is the key component towards the success of these startups. Slack is one great example of the B2B startups that grew with a tremendous pace on the back of a great word-of-mouth publicity and an outstanding Customer Experience.

Enterprise Tech market is huge with a clientele that includes big cash cows and heavily funded startups. Till now, the sales and brand building for B2B companies happened offline. But these new age B2B startups are using social media effectively not just for brand building but also to sell their products. The process of buying and selling for B2B is also shifting online. The freemium models, championed by the consumer businesses, are being adopted in enterprise tech too. The big ticket sales are happening via websites without any involvement of sales people. We at Curofy spend more than $1000 p.m. on analytics platforms and no sales person had to pitch us. Revenues in a key metric for these startups and it is difficult for them to operate in the bubble other explosive B2C startups are able to maintain.

The inspiration that these startups have taken from the B2C startups is helping them usher into a new era of products. It is also imperative to know that their growth is generally slower but more stable with the exception of Slack of course, which grew at a lightning pace even B2C startups find hard to match. The enterprise tech market has lately seen wonderful examples of products like Looker, Beckon, MixPanel, Quip and closer home we have Roadrunnr, ZipDial (acquired by Twitter), FreshDesk, Capillary, Sapience, Exotel, Knowlarity, Ezetap etc. Curofy is one such spam free network created for the betterment of the healthcare system in India; it looks on to saving lives by connecting one doctor to another doctor and providing them with a user friendly platform to solve patient cases.

B2B boom is definitely making an impact in the tech world today with sexy and user friendly products not boring enterprise tech we were used to while growing up.
