The odd-even vehicle rule, implemented by the Delhi government to curb pollution and traffic, is back. This time the rule will be implemented from 15th April to 30th April. Few reports have also surfaced that the authorities in Gurugram (formerly known as Gurgaon) are also planning to adopt Delhi’s example and impose the famous odd-even vehicle rule for a week. The dates will be announced soon.

Here’s a list of apps that will come to your rescue during this time –

PoochO Carpool

The Delhi government has launched an app called ‘PoochhO Carpool’ to help people explore carpooling options during the 15-day span. After registering on the app, users can look for carpooling option within a radius of 1-5 KMs. To ensure privacy, ssers will be allowed to communicate through chat so that they don’t have to share their phone numbers.

Jugnoo

Chandigarh-based auto rickshaw aggregator Jugnoo targets masses that are dependent on public transport for their daily conveyance. Presently, it has more than 30,000 people transacting per day. The mobile app has over 7,000 autos empanelled under the brand at present.

Tariff: Minimum fare – INR 20, per km – INR 5, per minute – INR 1

ibibo Ryde

A carpooling facility by Ibibo. Users can register, specify the destination and number of seats available, and the cost. Once ride is published on the platform, other users can book a ride. The advertiser has the option to choose the co-passengers he wants to take and after dropping he can also rate the co-passenger.

Carpool India

Carpool India helps users offer or request:

  • Regular car pools (on a daily or weekly basis) for commuters who live nearby and have a common work destination. These carpools are on a repeated schedule.
  • Casual car pools (car pools at specific date) for weekends, vacations. These carpools are on the basis of need.

The fares depend upon the user offering the ride.

Orahi

Orahi is a ride-sharing system that lets users share car rides to office and back. Recently, it acquired odd-even.com. Post-acquisition, Orahi’s combined user base is expected to increase to 70,000.

Tariff – Users who register to take passengers along with them get INR 3/Km per passenger. For every alternate ride they get 1 litre petrol free, and can redeem up to 10 litre petrol per month.

Users who travel through Orahi get first 2 rides free, and then every alternate ride is free. For the rides that aren’t free they are charged INR 3.5/ km.

Helpchat

A personal assistant app will help you save time & money, and also help you get the best options for commuting in the city. Helpchat allows users to book a cab in their vicinity, featuring quick and economic availability.

Uber

Uber entered the Indian market in 2013. Since then, it has slashed prices, introduced low-cost services, tweaked business models and even accepted cash payments to get recognised in the Indian market. It has managed to mark its presence in the country.

Base Fare- INR 15 + Per Minute – INR 1 + Per KM – INR 3

Minimum Fare – INR 15

Uber Go

Base Fare- INR 40 + Per Minute – INR 1 + Per KM – INR 7

Minimum Fare – INR 60

Uber Pool and Uber Share – A cab pooling facility that charges 50% fare.

Ola

Ola’s range of mobility offerings has expanded across different price points in over the last few months. The company provides Ola Micro, Ola Mini, and premium WiFi-enabled Ola Prime as transportation alternatives. It has also introduced Ola Share and Ola Shuttle.

Ola Micro

Minimum Fare- INR 40 + Per Minute- INR 1 + Per Km INR 6

Ola Mini

INR 80 for first 4 kms, Per Minute- INR 1 + Per Km INR 10

Ola also allows booking an auto through its app. Users have to pay a convenience fee of INR 10 + the bill via meter. Ola also offers Car pool and Cab sharing facility. The fare for ‘Share’ is 50% lesser than the Mini Fare. At a time only 2 passengers are allowed in a shared cab.

Zoomcar

If one doesn’t want to hire a cab, and aren’t comfortable with carpooling they can try self-drive car rental apps like Zoomcar.

For a car from Friday till Saturday night, it will cost at least INR 3500. But this also includes the cost of the fuel and over 100km distance as well.

Pool My Ride

Users can specify their details, destination, timing etc. Co-passengers can choose the desired car for pooling and can avail the facility. The fares are per passenger depending upon the user offering the ride.
