Zostel, the chain of branded hostels for backpackers, has announced the launch of its first international hostel in Vietnam. Zostel is the only contemporary startup in the Indian travel & hospitality space to have managed to expand its operations internationally.
The new location is in Dalat (Vietnam) with hills, pine forests and lakes as its backdrop. The location is set to give travelers sheer joy of a picturesque view and a memorable experience.
The Vietnamese hostel has been established under the Zostel Entrepreneurship Development Programme. This hostel is the first to come from the program, while another 21 hostels are at the development stage.
It is planning to further expand its presence in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, known for its centuries-old architecture and rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences.
On this development, Akhil Malik, co-founder of Zostel, said, “It’s a great milestone for us at Zostel. We plan to further build our global presence following in the same franchise model in Nepal and Sri Lanka by establishing three unique properties in each location by the end of 2015, taking the total number of hostels to 40 across national and international destinations.”
Zostel is also in the process of launching a backpacker App that will tap into this community to share relevant information for the backpacking ecosystem.
Zostel Hospitality Private Limited (ZHPL), which started in August 2013, has launched two brands: ZO Rooms in 2014 and Zostel in 2013. ZO Rooms, a chain of premium budget hotels, has grown to 600 properties across 35+ cities in India within 7 months. While Zostel is a backpacker’s hostel that is #1 on Tripadvisor across most of the cities with a vast backpacker community.
