ZO Rooms today announced its launch of ZO Prime, a premium offering in the category of 3 star hotels across India, provides customers with all the amenities and luxuries as per 3 star standards.

The new offering is launched with 500 ZO Prime rooms across metros. The price starts at $31 (INR 2K) will offer a host of services to its customers including complimentary Wi-Fi, breakfast on the house, early check-in, international calling, 8 inch mattresses, 32 inch LCD TV, spacious air-conditioned rooms, doctor on call, airport transfers, foreign exchange and many more.

The company is expected to increase this category to 10,000 ZO Prime rooms within next 12 months in the country.

With ZO Prime as the first launch, ZO Rooms is expected to foray into multiple categories – ZO Apartment, ZO Homes and ZO Star, to be launched in the next 3-6 months. With the vision of becoming a ‘one stop destination’ for all travelers, the startup is aiming at creating a presence of 7500 hostels and 60000 rooms across the country by 2016.

Dharamveer Singh Chouhan, Co-founder and CEO, ZO Rooms said about the launch, “We want to cater to the entire ecosystem and become relevant to all kinds of travelers. We already have a loyal customer base of more than 2,00,000 people who now only prefer to stay with us wherever they travel. To give our customers a complete range of stay options, we are coming up with these new categories.”

He further added, “We have kept the pricing of these models such that more and more customers find value in our products and services. It is indeed a step forward to our exciting journey ahead.”

The company plans to launch the following categories in the next few months:

  • ZO Apartment:  ZO Apartment is an offering in the category of service apartments. Starting with a price of $23 (INR 1500), these apartments offer all basic amenities and luxuries a customer seeks on an everyday basis. Ideal for long stay, these apartments will always have housekeeping staff to provide a hassle free stay for the customers.
  • ZO Homes: It is an offering in the ‘bed and breakfast’ and ‘homes’ category. Customers can choose from 1bhk to 3bhk depending on their need. Again, ideal for long stay, ZO Homes will always have 1 care-taker to maintain the facility.
  • ZO Star: ZO Star is a super-premium and ultra-luxurious offering which caters only to 4 star and above hotels across India. ZO Star will offer its customers stay in individual as well as chain of 4 star and 5 star hotels across India. Starting with a price of $37 (INR 3000), it is ideal for a luxurious stay anywhere across the country.

ZO Rooms is a chain of budget hotels which currently has 600 properties across 35+ cities in India within 7 months. The company is owned by Zostel Hospitality Private Limited (ZHPL) which recently forayed into Vietnam with its other property Zostel.

The Indian Budget Accommodation sector is growing rapidly. Oyo Rooms is building the ‘OYO Premium Brand Hotels’, that will strive to offer more than the OYO basic brand. Delhi-based WooStays is also another player which offers premium and luxury hotels.

Just today, GoIbibo has also announced launch of GoStays, its budget accommodation offering.
