Zomato has announced the launch of its cloud-based point of sale product for restaurants Zomato Base.

Zomato Base is an Android-based POS system that helps a restaurateur manage their day-to-day operations from a single platform. It offers variety of features for including menu, recipe and inventory management, a built-in payment solution that accepts debit and credit card payments, CRM, and real time analytics.

Zomato piloted Zomato base at The Beer Cafe outlet in Gurgaon, earlier this year. It says that based on the reviews and feedback, the company has  tweaked the product over and again to cater to the needs of its 35 outlets across 10 cities in India including Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Ludhiana.

Rahul Singh, founder & CEO of The Beer Cafe, the first adopter of the product, said that Zomato Base seamlessly integrates operational solutions such as menu management and remote inventory management into a single system, this makes the day-to-day functioning of a restaurateur efficient. “This platform is built to provide real time outlet-level analytics which would allow us to plan our supply chain better and provide benefits to our guests through effective promotion and profiling. We will be implementing the product across our all outlets. The best part is, all of this can be done remotely and in real time, which is a huge convenience for a business owner on the move, “ he added.

In April 2015, Zomato had acquired Delhi-based startup MapleGraph that built MaplePOS, a cloud-based point of sale product for restaurants. It had renamed the MaplePOS product to ‘Zomato Base’.

Zomato Base helps in managing restaurant operations from a single platform. It works with KOT printers, kitchen displays, cash drawers, and comes with an integrated app marketplace. Through Zomato Base, a restaurateur can manage their menus, inventory, recipe, price, customer relationship and much more. The product is also designed to analyse sales data to track restaurant’s performance and identify actionable insights through its data analytics. Zomato Base is also integrated with payment management that lends Offline transaction support and make online payment through seamless payment gateway.

The product is integrated with Zomato for business App, which is available on both Android and iOS platform.

Zomato Base is expected to boost Zomato’s revenues like its other business verticals that include Online Ordering, Table Reservations, Whitelabel Platform and Point-of-Sale system. For 2014-15, Zomato recorded operating revenue of INR 96.7 Cr and loss before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of INR136 Cr.
