Gurgaon-based Zappka, a personal app store to share, review and discover apps has raised $100K angel funding from former Line Corp India team Damandeep Singh Soni & Rajat Gupta and other High Networth Individuals.
Founded in April 2014 by former Paytm executive Rajan Gupta and former HP executive Sumit Arora. Through Zappka users can discover apps based on their profile, preferences, friends and social network.
The newly raised capital will be used for enhancing the technology and for improving user experience. The new investors will assist the Zappka team in strategy, product market fit and growth hacking.
Through Zappka, users can share app reviews with friends and family and help them discover apps. They also get notified as friends install new apps.
Currently the app is live on google play and has close to 5000 installations. The iOS App will be launched by end of April.
Prior to this, Mumbai–based video advertising and app monetisation platform, Pokkt secured $5Mn in a funding round from a group of investors including Segnel Venture, Shinji Kimura and Sundar Chanrai. Other players in this segment include Drippler, Taskbucks, etc.
