Intranet portal, WorkApps has raised $1 Mn (INR 6.7 Cr) in seed round of funding from SaaS investor, Sashi Reddi led SRI Capital.
Founded in 2015, WorkApps offers one-view to all the task requirements in an enterprise. Basically, it provides its users assorted boxes for finished and unfinished work, keeps data secured at one platform, generates performance-based reports, manages shared work and customises work management.
Rudrajeet Desai, co-founder, WorkApps told ET that the company plans to roll out its business globally for industries such as banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), advertising and media, telecom and manufacturing. It will also expand simultaneously in the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific region later this year.
With a team size of 1500-1700 employees, WorkApps is headed by MVS Murthy (co-founder & COO), Rudrajeet Desai and Shankar Borate (co-founder & CTO). The company claims that it has a hybrid and consulting model where a user is not required to pay any hourly fee.
Other startups in the same sector include Slack, Trello, Fb@work, Asana, BaseCamp, SharePoint, Planner and Gridle. In October 2015, Gridle raised $100 K in seed round of funding from Angel Investors via LetsVenture.
