Bangalore-based outdoor gear, apparel & footwear company Wildcraft has launched an intelligent GPS tracking wearable device called SPOT.

SPOT can be worn as a band or attached to bags. The app tracks and records personal travels as well as real time locations of loved ones via a smartphone app available on iOS and Android.

SPOT has a dual mode technology, GPS + LBS, that accurately monitors the location enabling accuracy of up to 10 meters. It functions through a SIM card which enables the upload and recording of location data at real-time or at intervals of few hours, as selected by the user. One of the key features of Wildcraft SPOT is the SOS button which allow users to send an alert in case of an emergency to pre-saved contacts.

According to Gaurav Dublish, Director of Wildcraft, “The launch of SPOT is a first step into the exciting arena of wearable. It fits right into our ambition of equipping travelers on their adventures. By allowing you to see the location of your loved ones, SPOT takes away the stress of not knowing where they are if they’ve been out of touch. We’ve got a host of parents expressing interest in the device from a safety standpoint – what better way to let your kids roam free without you worrying.”

Wildcraft SPOT can be used in schools where mobile phone usage is restricted. It is available on the Wildcraft website for INR 5995.
