California-based Vertex Ventures, a venture capital firm, has raised $151 Mn for its debut early-stage fund i.e. ‘Vertex Ventures US Fund I, LP’, according to the documents filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Singapore-state fund Temasek is the anchor investor, while Indian IT major Infosys Ltd also has also invested in the fund. A total of 43 investors have invested for the new fund. The firm had made its first close almost a year ago, and in January, this year, said it had closed a capital of $107 Mn from three investors.

It was the fourth investment by Infosys from its $500 Mn fund created to invest in startups around the world. Half of this corpus is to be used to back Indian startups while the rest is for international ventures.

The fund has already made several early stage investments including California-based storage startup Hedvig, and PerimeterX, a Silicon Valley-based startup focused on cloud security. Recently, the firm had also invested in Israeli mobile app testing company Perfecto Mobile, which raised $35 Mn in funding last month.

Vertex Ventures was set up by former Facebook executive Jonathan Heiliger and former Accel Partners’ executive Sik Rhee to make early-stage investments in enterprise and cloud infrastructure companies.
