Unbxd Raises Series B Funding From Nirvana, IDG ventures And Others

Bangalore-based ecommerce product discovery & recommendation platform, Unbxd Inc. has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in its Series B round, led by Nirvana Venture Advisors.

Other participants in this funding round were existing investors including IDG Ventures, Inventus Capital, and Indian Angel Network.

Founded in 2011 by Pavan Sondur and Prashant Kumar, Unbxd provides ecommerce companies with search, navigation, product recommendations, merchandising and analytics solutions.

The platform is already serving 200 Mn ecommerce visitors a day. It expects to grow 10x by end of this year

Rajan Mehra, Managing Director at Nirvana Venture Advisors said, “We are excited to partner with the Unbxd team in their endeavor to bring world class search experiences to retailers who have an online presence.   We have been very impressed by the capabilities of the team and are looking forward to the company further expanding their global footprint.”

Unbxd helps companies solve search and other queries to over 150 ecommerce platforms in 40 countries. 85% of the companies Unbxd services are outside India, primarily North America.

The startup will use the newly raised funds to improve the product, accelerate sales and to expand the sales and marketing team. The startup plans to increase its employee count to over 100 people over the next three months from a count of 55 currently.

Prior to this, Unbxd has raised money twice. The seed funding came from Indian Angel Network and $2Mn Series A round from Inventus Capital and IDG Venture Partners in October 2013.
