UCWeb’s 9Apps Plans to Launch Comparison And Discount Aggregator Portal In India

9Apps, the third-party Android app store and mobile applications distribution platform of UCWeb, has marked its entry in the Indian ecommerce space.

It plans to offer multiple features on its app to benefit 9Apps’ 250 Mn+ monthly active users.

One such feature may be to allow price comparison for products on the app from different sellers such as Paytm, Flipkart, Myntra, Snapdeal, Jabong, Askmebazar, Voonik and Shopclues. It also plans to provide a discount aggregation/coupon zone as a one-stop shop for discounts and coupon codes available on 9Apps. This will allow users to get a discount of value INR 50 for free when they sign up for Amazon via 9Apps.

“9Apps is much more than just a tool to download apps and games. We are on a constant lookout for ways to evolve user experience,” said Ebrahim Popat, Country Manager, 9Apps.

Founded in December 2013, 9Apps covers users from 100 emerging countries, including India, Indonesia, Russia, Brazil, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. By April 2016, It had more than 26 Mn daily app/game downloads and more than 250 Mn monthly active users.

Earlier, in April this year UCWeb also joined hands with Flipkart to launch a mobile site on UC Browser.

UCWeb Inc., also known as UC Mobile is a Chinese mobile Internet company that offers products and services including mobile browser, search and so on. Its flagship product, UC Browser topped the China, Indonesia and India markets in 2013. In June 2014, UCWeb was acquired by Alibaba Group.
