Online meal-booking platform, TravelKhana.com, has tied-up with Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The company’s services will soon be available on the IRCTC’s ecatering website.

TravelKhana is an online meal-booking platform for train passengers. It connects the train passenger to the food caterers in Indian railway network. With this development, Travelkhana’s listing will be available for travellers on IRCTC’s ecatering website.

The startup services will be at the New Delhi & Hazrat Nizammudin railway stations on the ecatering system. It  has also expressed its interest in starting its services in 17 stations in the first phase.

The tie-up will be a revenue sharing arrangement that the two companies will get into. Under this arrangement, people logging in to Travelkhana’s website will also be able to book their meals online while travelling.

Speaking on the development, Pushpinder Singh, co-founder & CEO at TravelKhana said, “We have been working with Railways for a while to come out with a policy that will allow the passengers to be able to avail the service of their choice, rather than be limited and constrained by the licensed food suppliers. We look forward to the day when over 1 Mn people booking their tickets on the IRCTC platform daily will be able to utilise services of Travelkhana along with booking their tickets and make their travel comfortable.”
