Tracxn Raises Funding From Mohandas Pai, Nandan Nilekani & Others

Tracxn Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from a group of angel investors including Nandan Nilekani, Mohandas Pai, WhatsApp vice-president Neeraj Arora and Junglee co-founder Anand Rajaraman, among others.

Japanese investor and Beenos founder Teruhide Sato, Freshdesk CEO Girish Mathrubootham, and Capillary Technologies CEO Aneesh Reddy also participated in this round.

Prior to this, in January, Tracxn had raised an undisclosed amount in an funding round led by Ratan Tata.

Tracxn was founded in 2013 by Accel alumnus Abhishek Goyal and Neha Singh, a former analyst at Sequoia. It helps VCs and private companies by providing a database covering over 20 Mn companies. The platform provides information on startups across 100 sectors, including technology, consumer, mobile, digital marketing, health and education to over 6,000 clients across India, the US, the Middle East, South-East Asia and Europe.

Tracxn is currently working with enterprises and investors across over 20 countries. It plans to expand its research to about 25 countries across West Asia, Europe and Canada in 2016.

The startup also has a fundraising platform called Tracxn Syndicate, which was launched in June 2015 and helps budding entrepreneurs accelerate. A few startups that have recently raised funding from Tracxn Syndicate are Hansel.io, Tavaga, WishUp, Parcelled and Stayglad.

Earlier, in June 2015, Tracxn had raised funding from Flipkart founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, and others for launching its incubator, TracxnLabs. Prior to that, in April, it had raised $3.5 Mn from SAIF Partners.
