Mumbai-based on-demand home services startup, Timemytask, has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from angel investor network Lead Angels.

Timemytask was founded in 2014 by IIT Bombay Alumni Saurav Suman and Mohit Verma. The startup aims to provide a reliable and affordable cleaning experience for consumers by offering customizable cleaning services fulfilled by trained and skilled workers (called ‘taskers’). It provides services under the categories Expert Cleaning, On-Demand Home Cleaning and ‘My’ Help.

Mohit Verma, co-founder of Timemytask, said, “Home cleaning is largely an unorganized market in India, plagued by low cleaning standards and hassles of bai’s/independent workers (even forced child labor) which are highly unsafe, unsanitary and illegal at the same time. Therefore, our business idea supports the vision by offering reliable and affordable services for homes.”

The startup has recently opened its office n Mumbai and plans to expand further. It also plans to smoothen operations and launch the technology applications for both customers and taskers, with the raised funds.

At present, the startup records 25,000+ hours of cleaning experience with over 5,000+ customers in Mumbai. It claims to have achieved 300% increase in its customer base over the last two-quarters. It follows a hybrid model where expert professionals are full-time and taskers are engaged on the commission basis.

The startup estimates that the home cleaning services vertical in tier-1 cities are estimated to be over $ 8 Bn, which constitutes of  independent local service providers and horizontal players like UrbanClap, Timesaverz, Taskbob, Housejoy, Zimmber among others which provide services like laundry, carpentry, plumbing, repairing, and cleaning.

However, Timemytask differentiates itself by providing customisable services through verified and certified taskers.

The on-demand home services space has seen a spate of investments and consolidations in recent times. Earlier this week, Zimmber acquired Findyahan for an undisclosed amount. Earlier this month, Housejoy bought laundry and cleaning company MyWash. In January, UrbanClap acquired after-sales service platform HandyHome. In November, last year, Taskbob  had acquired Zepper Services Pvt Ltd. Startups like Doormint, SellYourTime, HandyHome, Housejoy also operates in the same space.
