TapChief Wins SeedStars Bangalore Edition, To Represent India In Finale

TapChief has been announced as the winner of SeedStars Bangalore event 2016. The event took place on 25th June in Tech Hub. It was a part of Seedstars World, the global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes.

The jury panel included Katarina Szulenyiova, Regional Manager for Asia, Seedstarsworld; Tej Pochiraju, Director of Jaaga; Prateek Khare, Head of Entrepreneurship, swissnex India; Jayaroopa Jeyabarathi, Principal, Unitus Impact; and Dushyantsinh Jadeja, Program Manager, Google.

Bangalore-based TapChief was founded earlier this year by Shashank Muarli, offers a cohesive platform to discover and schedule calls with experts to get advice across domains. They leverage technology to make the process of discovery seamless and provide end-to-end service in terms of scheduling and executing the phone calls. TapChief was selected as the best startup in India for its user-friendly solution that has generated a lot of early traction.

Earlier, TapChief had also won Chase Your Dreams- Ideathon’ Contest, taking away $150K funding from Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma.

The other startups invited to pitch were Playlyfe, Fullonwedding, Cirtru, HipShip, Sportzify, Piki Poll, Trukky, and neoEYED.

Playlyfe, with its hub of employee engagement products, came second, and Fullonwedding, an end-to-end solution that enables couples to do their wedding planning online, grabbed the last spot in the top 3.

TapChief will now represent India at Seedstars Summit, which will take place in Switzerland in March 2017. It would be a week long training program with the opportunity to meet the other 60 winners, as well as investors and mentors from around the world.

The winner will receive a prize money of $1 Mn and will also get a chance to meet VC’s angels and corporates for investment purpose. A total of 65 such events will take place in different parts of Asia, Africa, MENA, Latin America, Europe, and Caucasus. From around 4000+ applicants, 700 startups would be selected with 65 finalists chasing the finale at Switzerland.

Continuing on its world tour of startup scenes, Seedstars World’s next stop is Sri Lanka at Colombo’s TRACE, to select the best startup in Sri Lanka. Seedstars World is looking for startups that solve regional issues and/or develop profitable products for the global market.
