A mobile application that addresses the pet parent’s’ needs, TailsLife has secured an undisclosed amount of angel funding in a round led by Mohan Kumar, Executive Director Norwest Ventures Partners India and V. Balakrishnan, Chairman of Exfinity in their personal capacity. Other investors that participated in the round include Encube Venture Partners LLP, Satish Tembad, Vineet Jain, and Nishanth Ramkutty.
Commenting on the development, Mohan Kumar, Executive Director, Norwest Ventures said, “Founders of TailsLife are passionate about pets and animals. This is a must for anyone to succeed in this space. They are taking the right approach to network the vets and make their advice available to pet owners.”
Founded last year by Balaji Ramesh and Kanishk Lihala, TailsLife is not just a transaction app, it connects the entire life journey of the pet with you, making it a memorable experience.
“Our chief inspiration officer is 2-year-oldold English Cocker Spaniel, Pepper. So when I got him to Bengaluru from my hometown Coimbatore, it was quite a struggle for us to find the best solutions and pet services in the city and thus hit upon the idea of creating an app that would be very helpful to other pet parents” said Balaji Ramesh, co-founder and CEO, TailsLife.
The startup aims at making pet parenting easier and happier by providing content specific to the breed and age of a pet and easier access to vets, grooming and boarding services. It has also developed a free (for now) backend portal that helps pet service providers manage appointments.
The latest version of the app allows its customers to customise their content feed. Once customers registered their pet’s breed and age with TailsLife, they will automatically get informative articles that are more relatable to their age and type. Also, with a click of a button customer can get in touch with the best spas, salon services, boarding kennels and more. It also provides dedicated pet forum which is totally dedicated to customer’s pet.
User can virtually shake a leg with other pet parents and share their story. Apart from this user can also share and view interesting pet stories from around the world. Other startups in the space include DogSpot.in, Heads Up For Tails (HUFT).
