Bangalore Based Strike Wins The Seedstars World India Challenge

Seedstars World, a global seed­ stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes, has crowned Bangalore-based startup, Strike, as a winner for Seedstars World India Challenge, hosted in GINSERV, Bangalore last week.

Strike stood out, out of 10 shortlisted startups, who were invited to compete against each other. It will now compete for the final round at Switzerland in February 2016.

Strike is like Rapportive for Mobile, which means it helps email users research people inside their Gmail app on mobile. With Strike, user can find social-network profiles and read social-media updates without having to leave the email app.

According to  Aishwarya Jain, co-founder & CEO of Strike, presently it is not possible for multiple apps to work on the same screen of smartphone, until iOS9.

Strike will enable users to search any person in email, right inside the Gmail app easily and work on multiple apps at the same time.

Aishwarya said that business users who spend most of their day on mobile devices and who often have limited time to prepare for meetings, will find Strike handy for them.

The event was organised by the local Ambassadors of Seedstars World, Vivek Srinivasan and Salma Moosa of Startups Club, in collaboration with Seedstars World’s local partner Swissnex India.

Seedstars World is a Global challenge held across three continents of Asia, South America & Africa. The best from the countries in each of the continents that Seedstars World goes to will get an opportunity to participate in the main event at Switzerland in the month of February 2016

In the final round, startups will pitch for $500K equity investment.

Other investments and prizes, such as the best travel startup  and best space startup will be awarded $500k equity investment and $50k in cash respectively by online travel and leisure retailer lastminute.com group.

Besides, Seedstars World awarded second position to events & activities marketplace startup EventsHigh and SayPay Technologies, grabbed the last spot in Indian round of the event. Say Pay enables users make bill payments, online purchases and secure website sign­ in on their mobile device by simply using their voice.

Seedstars World will now have its competition in Jakarta, to select the best tech startup in Indonesia.
