Online retailer and home decor brand, SkyCandle.in, has raised an undisclosed amount in Series A round of funding led by GPA group. As per the deal, GPA Group’s chairman, Vivek Aggarwal will join the board of directors.
Speaking on the development, Aditee Joshi, CEO of SkyCandle.in said, “We aim to expand strategically to realise the funding given to us by GPA Group.”
Delhi-based SkyCandle was founded in 2013 by Gaurav Garg, Garima Garg, Aditee Joshi and Vishal Lakkabathini. It started as a part-time venture to sell sky lanterns online across India. Later it stepped into the retail market which led to the expansion of its customer base.
The website offers various products including candles, sky lanterns, wall decor, lights and gift packs among others. The startup claims to process about 1000 orders a day. Apart from its website, the products are available on Flipkart, Snapdeal, Pepperfry, Paytm and other leading ecommerce platforms.
The company aims to substantially increase its revenue by the end of this year.
