Angel investors Vishal Maheshwari, Vikas Kapoor, Daud Ali and Nitin Agarwal led the round.
SIFTR Labs was launched in 2015 by Romil Mittal, who met co-founder Mayank Bhagya, an NIT Suratkal graduate while both were working at Adobe. The startup aims to assist photographers in curating individual digital content photography platforms, claiming to have created the world’s’ first self-updating photo website.
Romil Mittal, founder of SIFTR Labs, said, “The mobile revolution has led to more than a billion photos being uploaded everyday, making it difficult to find a ‘great’ photo when one’s searching for it. We are an image analysis company and are building our technology stack further to provide very advanced photo search for different use cases.”
Venture Catalysts (VCats) that launched itself as India’s first Seed Investment & Innovation platform aims to provide venture fund, co-working facility, angel network and post-investment support to boost startups in their early stage of growth.
The VC firm invests an average ticket size ranging from $112K (INR 75 lakhs) to $224K (INR 1.5 Cr) per venture.
