SHEROES Helps Women Find Career Opportunities; Raises $770K From 500 Startups, Quintillion Media & Others

SHEROES, a jobs and career community for women has raised $770k (INR 5 Crore) in an angel round of funding led by Raghav Bahl & Ritu Kapur’s Quintillion Media (publishers of TheQuint.com) and 500 Startups.

The round also saw participation of Vijay Shekhar Sharma of Paytm, Rajan Anandan, Flipkart’s Binny Bansal, Mekin Maheshwari, Girish Mathrubhootham, Indus Khaitan and Krishna Mehra.

Launched in January 2014 by Sairee Chahal, Sheroes is a career destination for women in India to find mentorship, career resources and career content along with career advice.

It offers the largest opportunity scape for women seeking options at various life stages. It helps them to find opportunities including work from home jobs, part time jobs, corporate roles, startup options including other entrepreneurial options like franchising and affiliates.

Sairee says, “It was important to bring in the right kind of investors, as we build a high impact, high growth organization. Our investors truly believe in the purpose and vision. We are delighted to have them support us. The raise will help us improve the quality of product and scale community.”

As per the company, it has over 6000 companies and over half a million women professionals on the platform from 5000 locations. It has already processed over a million service requests for its community members.

Ritu Kapur, co-founder Quintillion Media will join the board of the SHEROES parent – Applied Life Pvt Ltd.
