Hyderabad-based hybrid on-demand home cleaning & laundry startup SBricks has acquired home services aggregator HomeCues. The deal has been inked for $1 Mn.

Post-acquisition, both companies will work as a separate entity. While HomeCues will look into the B2C segment, SBricks will cater to the B2B vertical.

HomeCues offers services such as housekeeping, plumbing, appliance repair, electrician, pest control, gadget repair and more. It was founded in 2014. Although the site is live, there’s no access to book services.

Founded in February 2015 by Nithin Reddy, SBricks offers professional services and trusted service providers for cleaning and repair services. The startup offers 40 services with its list of pre-approved screened service providers for home maintenance and soon will launch its facility management services.

A few of its services include home cleaning, laundry, plumbing, electrical, painting, AC maintenance and carpentry among others.

“We are aiming at standardising these home services. Once we have created a perfect model in Hyderabad, replicating this to other cities is not going be a problem. The company is also considering franchises in smaller cities and towns,” said D Nithin Reddy, CEO of SBricks.

In December 2015, SBricks also acquired facility management and hands-on services company Melway for an undisclosed amount.

Recent funding in on-demand home service aggregator space includes TaskBob ($2.5 Mn, February 2016), EasyFix (October 2015), Housejoy ($22 Mn, December 2015), UrbanClap ($25 Mn, December 2015). According to a report by Tracxn 69 startups were founded in this space in 2014 alone. Housejoy’s recent acquisition of laundry startup MyWash also falls in this category.
