Bangalore-based real-time hotel booking startup, RoomCentral, has raised $2 Mn (INR 12 Cr.) in a funding round from angel investor Karanpal Singh, managing director of Nameh chain of hotels in Delhi, Goa and Odisha.
The startup was launched in 2011 by Atul Prabhu and Rupam Mazumdar. It offers tools and solutions for seamless reservation and property management to the hotel owners to help them manage different functions such as handling reservations, checking guests in & out, assigning rooms & managing room inventory, accommodating in-house guest needs and handling accounting & billing.
On the other side, it helps travellers in making room reservations across properties & locations with a real time confirmation with the help of its cloud-based property management systems.
How it works:
- Hotels can sign up for RoomCentral and configure their property information and room information, including number and the type of rooms they are offering
- Once the room information and room types are configured, one can enter the weekday and weekend rates for each room type.
Currently, it is operational in Delhi and Southern India with about 50 properties with an inventory of 25 rooms per property. The product is basically designed for small and medium properties.
Due to rise in online travel booking, the hotel technology sector is increasing. In this space, recently, ibibo Group had acquired a six-month-old hotel technology platform Djubo.
