Hike messenger, internet based cross platform instant messaging service, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Silicon Valley tech veterans including Adam D’Angelo (founder & CEO at Quora), Aditya Agarwal (Dropbox‘s Vice President), Matt Mullenweg (WordPress co-founder) and Ruchi Sanghvi (former Vice President, Operations, Dropbox), reported ET.

The investment is done in personal capacities and they will also act as advisors to the company.

Launched in December 2012, Hike, has acquired 70 Mn users and transacts over 30 Bn messages per month. The app is available on Android, iOS, Windows and Blackberry platforms. The messaging app has tied up with brands like PepsiCo, Amazon, Unilever, Zynga among others.

Till now it has raised $86 Mn funding from Tiger Global and Bharti SoftBank, the joint venture between Japan’s SoftBank and Bharti Enterprises.
