Mumbai-based instant content transfer app, Plick.it, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from angel investor Sanjay Mehta – a serial entrepreneur-turned-investor.
The startup plans to utilise the funds to develop its product for multiple browser & OS, as well as to upgrade its server for more speed and response.
Founded in February 2015 by Kapil Sanghavi, Plick.it, allows users to transfer text, images, URLs from one device to another. A user can instantly send text or images from a web browser to their phone and vice-versa without sending mails or bluetooth etc.
Speaking on the development Sanjay Mehta said, “Plick.it solves the basic problem of moving & managing content from multiple devices. Plick.it will be a pervasive utility on all mobiles due to all modes of constant information sharing on messengers like Whatsapp & social network like Facebook.”
According to Sanghvi, in future, the company will focus on developing the broadcast channel offering for offices and schools. It will serve customers in B2B sales and services, B2C retail, ecommerce, HR & payroll, education & training, finance & banking, events and B2C marketing.
Currently, Plick.it’s app is available on Android and iOS platform, and the company is planning to incorporate Firefox extension, Windows desktop software and Windows mobile phone.
The company sees California-based Evernote and Microsoft Onenote as its competitors.
Sanjay Mehta is a member of the Indian Angel Network, Mumbai Angels, B2B 1K Ventures and Venture Nursery. He recently invested in Bangalore-based Blubirch, an IT/Reverse logistic service provider and another Bangalore-based train ticket discovery platform, ConfirmTKT.
