Pitney Bowes, a global technology company has selected six startups from India to the summer session of the Pitney Bowes Accelerator Programme.
This programme provides mentorship, access to venture funds and networking to innovative startups in the areas of customer information management, mobile, data analytics, location-based services, ecommerce management and machine learning.
The chosen startups will have access to selective Pitney Bowes software and APIs for six months. In addition, the company will provide mentorship with leading engineering and innovation experts for technical and business guidance. The startups will be placed in Pune or Noida for incubation and will have opportunities to network with prospective investors.
The six startups are:
eCourierz – Based in Bangalore, it is an online, automated shipping tool. It was launched by Shiva Mahadi, Sreenivas Saba and Shashi Shekhar in September 2014.
Infinite Analytics – It is a big data and social analytics company for a 360-degree-view of the customer. Based out of Mumbai, it was founded by Akash Bhatia and Purushotam Botla in 2012. It also raised an undisclosed amount from Ratan Tata in August 2015.
Medimojo – A digital health platform for simplifying healthcare. It aims at improving health outcomes by early detection and evidence-based treatment. It was founded by Vikas Ranjan and Dr. Shikha Suman and is based in New Delhi.
Niki – It is an artificial intelligence-powered bot that simplifies the ordering experience. It helps users book cabs, order food, recharge, pay postpaid, electricity, datacard, DTH bills and much more simply via chatting. Based in Bangalore, it was founded in April 2015 by Sachin Jaiswal, Keshav Prawasi, Nitin Babel and Shishir Modi.
Sponsifyme – Based in Gurgaon, it is a real-time geolocation-based marketing platform for offline businesses. It was founded in April 2015 by Nitin Bajaj, Shreya Ratra and Gourav Kaila.
WeDoSky – Founded in 2014, the Delhi-based startup was initiated by Jaspreet Makkar. The company designs and manufactures drones and provides these services to a range of clientele — from real estate moghuls to private universities and the media.
“These six startups are developing technologies for the physical and digital worlds of commerce,” said Manish Choudhary, Senior Vice President, Global Innovation and Managing Director, Pitney Bowes India. “We’re especially pleased to host two women-led startups in the Accelerator Programme, because diversity is also a great driver of innovation.”
Last year, Pitney Bowes incubated four startups as a part of the programme: Ipsator, Fetchon, Kayeura, and Shipdesk. Loginext and Primaseller were two startups incubated to an accelerator collaboration programme. The company has also announced a new six-month programme called “Scale-Up” designed to give young and emerging startups an opportunity to expand using Pitney Bowes cloud services and APIs.
