Mobile commerce platform, Paytm, has announced the launch of a new category called ‘Games and Apps’ in partnership with mobile ad network startup InMobi.

The category, available on iOS & Android platform, provides curated apps of high entertainment or utility value which are free for download and install.

Few of these apps include PepperTap, Money View, Uber, Truecaller, CarWale, Ola Cabs, Cleartrip, Twitter, MakeMyTrip, Voonik among many others. In future, video and gaming content apps would also feature on this store.

Dushyant Saraswat, Vice President – Paytm, commented, “We have started in the journey of creating a great digital content offerings. We will provide our consumers a platform to discover highly curated digital apps and games and also entertainment options from the Google and iTunes app-store. We will be able to offer some incredible opportunities to our brand partners to engage with what is India’s leading digital consumer base.”

Just last month, Paytm announced that it reached 100 Mn mobile wallet users with a whopping 90 Mn transactions along with tie ups with over 80,000 merchants on its portal.

This proves the fact that the applications listed on its newly launched store will be able to leverage the large user engagement on its app.

Yesterday, Paytm also started a gold loan repayment services wherein its customers will be able to repay loans through the portal. In the coming future, the company would also provide the facility of renewing insurance policies on its platform.
