Bangalore-based, personal fitness coach app, Orobind, has raised pre-series A round of funding led by high profile angel investors along with existing investors participating in the round.

Orobind has raised this round of funding just after five months after it raised $200K angel funding from Zishaan Hayath and Harpreet Singh Grover.

Launched in 2014 by two IIT graduates Satya Vyas and Shubhanshu Shrivastava, Orobind app connects fitness freaks to trusted personal coaches. The startup provides ‘at home’ services for fitness through a subscription-based model.

With the newly raised funds the startup plans to launch a new subscription-based service, Orobind Access. With this, the users will be able to take sessions with Orobind’s partner like gyms, clubs and fitness studios around them.

According to Satya Vyas, co-founder of Orobind, “Since there is extreme scarcity of high quality hyperlocal fitness/workout options – we needed the cushion of some funds as we intend to create the supply ourselves.”

Orobind’s android platform has recorded five thousand download in just eight months of launch. The app witnesses close to 200 sessions per day with 200 coaches listed on its platform. It is currently live in 30 communities in Bangalore and has recently launched in Hyderabad.

Vyas added that hyperlocal nature of fitness as a service is a huge segment to tap. “We are planning to launch Orobind in two more cities this year and take the count of our fitness communities to 20.”
