Bangalore-based OnlineRTI, an online service to file Right to Information (RTI) applications, has raised about $150K (INR 1 Cr.) in an angel round of funding from LetsVenture, Mohandas Pai, and existing investors.
Nipun Goyal (president IIFL), Bhupen Shah (co-founder of Sling Media) and early stage investment firm Oilphans Capital also participated in this round.
Founded in 2014 by two engineering graduates, Pradeep Bhatt and Vinod Ranganathan, OnlineRTI, is a website where people can file RTI applications without any of the hassles.
How It Works:
The raised capital will be utilised for product development and marketing.”The mass adoption of the internet economy is having a transformative impact within India and OnlineRTI is leveraging that to simplify a process of obtaining and applying for RTI. They are raising funds on LetsVenture for the second time,” said, Shanti Mohan, chief executive of LetsVenture.
In 2014, the startup had raised over $7 K (INR 50 Lakhs) from a group of investors via LetsVenture platform. There are a few similar portals like RTI Nation and YourAdhikar who are also dealing in the same space.
