Bangalore-based online home rentals startup NestAway has raised $12 Mn in a funding round led by Flipkart and Tiger Global. The funds will be used in expansion plans in order to cover more cities and improvise on the technological front as well.
Founded this in January by Jitendra Jagadev, Amarendra Sahu, Smruti Parida and Deepak Dhar, NestAway is an online marketplace for home rentals that turns unfurnished houses into fully-furnished and managed apartments and provides them at affordable prices to pre-verified tenants. Additionally the company also provides better rental solutions for singles in the cities.
Amarendra, is also the co-founder of television technology startup BrizzTV alongside Jitendra. A farmer’s son and first engineer from his village Kantio in Orissa, Amarendra decided to launch NestAway when his sister couldn’t find a rented home in Bangalore.
In this space, NoBroker, a peer-to-peer property listing startup, had raised $3 Mn round of Series A funding led by SAIF Partners and Fulcrum Ventures for expansion of its services.
