My Child, an app that can detect developmental disorders in their child, has raised seed funding of $100K funding led by 500Startups. The other angel investors who participated in this round were Samir Bangara, Anisha Mittal, Amit Gupta, Pallav Nadhani, Lalit Mangal, Arihant Patni, Dr. Ritesh Malik, Deobrat Singh, Saurab Paruthi and Singapore Angel Network.
The startup will utilise the funds to develop its technology and product along with hiring an efficient team.
The fund is raised by the parent entity that is incorporated in the US by the name of Time Ahead Inc.
The app was built by Bhopal-based Harsh Songra along with Aafreen Ansari and Shreya Shrivastava at the young age of 19. The app helps parents spot developmental disorders in their child within a matter of 45 seconds.
Harsh’s personal stint at the age of nine, made him develop such an app. He was diagnosed with Dyspraxia, a developmental disorder which took almost nine years for his parents to realise.
Pankaj Jain, Partner at 500 Startups said, “Having information about learning disorders and who to speak with on a simple mobile app where a parent answers simple questions about the child’s development is incredibly powerful in regions where mental health professionals aren’t readily available or parents don’t have access to the right medical professionals. We look forward to work with Harsh and the team on improving lives for children and parents across the globe.”
The app was launched in January 2015. Since its launch, the app has gained traction all over the world. Till date, the app has been downloaded 7000 times by parents in 100+ different countries.
