Monster India, a Hyderabad-based online job portal, has launched #MakeIndiaWork initiative in order to use its database as a ready pool for startups to source crowd funding for their ventures. It will provide business networking opportunities through a holistic 360 degree approach to startup activities.

It would also act as a central hub that brings together startups, job seekers, investors, incubators, and mentors, thereby helping entrepreneurs into setting up sustainable businesses.

“It’s a holistic ecosystem that would potentially boost entrepreneurial success, through a potent mix of hiring and jobs, funding opportunities and knowledge, as well as hand-holding from experts and mentors,” said Sanjay Modi, Managing Director (India, Middle-East, South-East Asia, Hong Kong). This initiative will also be gradually launched in other global markets.

The platform already has registered 150 startups and over 40,000 job seekers across sectors such as IT, manufacturing, FMCG, ecommerce amongst others.

Some of the mentors on-board at #MakeIndiaWork comprise Maheshwer Peri, Chairman & Founder of Careers360.com Alok ‘Rodinhood’ Kejriwal, Founder – 2win Group; Arunachalam Muruganantham, CEO of Jayaashree Industries; Vishal Gondal – CEO GOQii and Sanjay Modi, Managing Director of Monster.com.

It is projected that there will be more than 11,500 startups by 2020 and the startup ecosystem in India is currently burgeoning with opportunities.  While total funding in 2015 in startups is estimated to be at around $6.5 Bn, the space is getting flooded with accelerators, Venture funds, government funds etc. Thus, right time to get engaged with right people on right platform for entrepreneurs.
