San Francisco and Hyderabad-based mobile growth hacking startup, AppVirality, has raised $500K in a fresh round of funding from its existing investors and new angels. With this investment, the company plans to focus on product innovation and customer satisfaction, and increase the team size from 12 to 25 in next 12 months.

Apart from the existing investors Rajan Anandan (Google India), Mike Galgon (aQuantive), Ravi Gururaj (Nasscom), Ashim Mehra (Baron Capital), Mohit Saxena (InMobi), India Internet Group and TNN Capital, other investors who participated in this round included Brijesh Kumar Agrawal (Founder, IndiaMart), Bikky Khosla (Founder, TradeIndia), Clicklabs, Aloke Bajpai & Rajnish Kumar (Founders, iXiGO), Krishna K Mehra (Founder, Capillary), HT Ventures LLC, Maxence Cacheux, Gaurav Lochan, Jocelyn Goldfein, Aditya Vuchi (Founder, Zippr), Gaurav Agarwal (Co-founder, 1MG), Rimpal Chawla, Munish Jauhar, Shashank Mehrotra, Vikram Chalana, Aakash Singal, Shashank Mehrotra.

The startup had raised $465k in seed funding in January.

Laxman Papineni, co-founder and CEO of the company, stated, “ AppVirality’s dramatic growth has been driven by increased demand by app developers, who understand and value our technology. We have been overwhelmed by the response received by the biggest brands in the business. Today, we take pride in our associations that includes both our customers and investors”.

Through their growth toolkit, this 12-month-old startup now claims to have generated more than 1.5 Mn installs across their customers. Currently, AppVirality powers organic growth for apps like MakeMyTrip, Airtel, Quikr, Byjus, Yatra, Paytm, iXiGO, Redbus, Yepme, 1MG, MySmartPrice, FAASO’S and hundreds of apps across the globe. The startup had graduated from the Microsoft Accelerator Batch 4 in May 2014.

Samar Singla, founder of Jugnoo stated, “ In today’s startup scenario, it is only logical to look for synergies to bring best services together for the consumers. AppVirality’s expertise in growth hacking is a great asset to Click Labs for boosting their mobile platforms because both are building solutions that complement each other.”

As a mobile growth toolkit, AppVirality, enables mobile-focused companies to identify and implement the right growth techniques without having to code. It enables growth/marketing teams to make use of ‘Do It Yourself’ dashboard to configure, analyse and optimise the growth techniques. The current toolkit includes growth techniques like – Uber/Airbnb like “Personalized In-App Referrals”, Customer Retention, Social Sharing, Unlock premium, among others.
