Mumbai-based MeraDoctor, a platform for virtual consultations between doctors and patients, has raised INR 7 Cr in pre series A round of funding led by Ronnie Screwvala’s Unilazer Ventures.

Its existing investor IndiaQuotient also participated in the round.

With the newly raised capital, the startup will extend its technology platform, scale its doctorbase, increase its technology and management teams.

Founded by Gautam Ivatury and Dr. Ajay Nair in 2010, MeraDoctor is a platform for virtual consultations between doctors and patients. The startup is a doctor-led platform that connects patients with reputable physicians only. It allows patients like expecting and young mothers with infants, families in hard-to-reach areas, people suffering from chronic diseases, to chat live and consult with a healthcare physician.

MeraDoctor claims to have helped over 300,000 people to connect with doctors across 11 states in India. This includes connecting people from over 1,000 locations across the country with carefully screened doctors for live and real-time consultations. The platform aims to grow as the largest virtual healthcare platform in India.

Dr. Ajay Nair, CEO and co-founder of MeraDoctor, said, “Within the country’s rapidly evolving healthcare industry, our focus is clear – we make it easy for everyone in India to have high-quality health conversations on their phone. In just a few months after launching our app for live messaging with doctors, we’ve helped over 300,000 people connect with quality care.”

Prior to this, MeraDoctor had raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from IndiaQuotient along with Aaavishkaar and Accion Venture Lab.
