US-based Lowe’s Inc, a fortune 50 home-improvement company present in United States, Canada and Mexico – has announced the launch of its accelerator program in India. Lowe Innovation Labs (LIL) will be focusing on startups working in key technology areas like augmented & virtual reality, robotics & 3D scanning and printing technologies.

The Innovation Labs will be situated in Bangalore and will be a 16-week accelerator program. Apart from this, startups will also have the opportunity to partner with the Lowe’s Innovation Labs to deploy their technology in the US startups. The startups may also receive funds in the form of a grant as part of the program.

Lowe’s created LIL in 2014 to bring together uncommon partners with a commitment to get technology out of the lab and into the real world. The Bangalore center will be inaugurated in February 2016, with an objective to identify and accelerate leading startups developing solutions in retail. Primary focus will be on key technology areas like augmented & virtual reality, robotics & 3D scanning and printing technologies. But the selection of entries to participate in the program will not be limited to these areas.

The program is expected to begin in April 2016. Selected startups will benefit from access to Lowe’s senior management and guidance on developing real-world solutions; workshops and closed group networking with experienced mentors and industry leaders; and access to a wide investor and corporate network through Lowe’s partners.

Applications for the program will close on 10th Feb, 2016. If your startup would like register for the program, fill the form here.
