Bangalore-based Lookup, a free chat-based local commerce app, has launched its merchant app, Lookup Biz. The app will provide a free suite of tools to showcase a business and connect it to the Lookup shoppers’ community.
Lookup Biz offers a gamut of services to the merchant community by enabling them to track customers, respond to queries, and perform product searches. They are also provided leads by Lookup, which can be converted into orders. Apart from providing basic menus and cataloguing, the app offers features through which merchants can enter details such as their bestseller products, product specialties, offers, and more. Merchants are also free to choose the delivery option, which can be done either through Lookup or themselves.
The app also provide offers through geo-targeted push notifications, along with giving a way to manage bill cycles, invoicing and online payments with partners.
Besides, Lookup is also introducing a hyperlocal ad network for offline merchants across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune & Bangalore, to promote the brand and reach out to shoppers in the vicinity of 5-7 kilometres. Merchants will be able to reach out to the target audience, living and looking for products nearby.
Deepak Ravindran, founder & CEO of Lookup, said, “Lookup Biz is aimed at assisting our partner merchants to come on board with greater facility and reach out to customers in more effective ways. Besides smoothing out daily business tasks like managing invoicing and payments, the app also allows businesses to foster greater engagement with existing and potential customers through their mobile profiles and more targeted offers.”
The startup has further planned to have a cloud-based POS so that the complete business operation is managed on one platform. The POS will include menu management, real time analytics, receipts and invoicing, etc. Apart from this, future enhancements include allowing owners of a chain of stores to claim multiple stores, either as a chain of a brand, or as independent stores. Businesses will have multiple options for delivery partners.
Earlier in December 2015, Lookup tied up Twitter to launch @lookuplite for live, public conversations on Twitter’s platform.
