Axilor Ventures today announced Kris Gopalakrishnan as Non-Executive Chairman of the organization.
It was founded in November 2014 by Infosys, co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan & S D Shibulal, alongwith Prof Tarun Khanna, Srinath Batni and Ganapathy Venugopal, as a platform for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship and help early-stage entrepreneurs improve their odds of success.
On his appointment Gopalakrishnan said, “Axilor Ventures helps startups to improve their odds of success. I look forward to support the executive management of Axilor with this vision.”
Axilor has set up three programs to help entrepreneurs – the accelerator program, scale-up program and early stage funding program. Currently, it is operating through a 20,000 sq. feet campus in South Bangalore and supports startups working in sectors like e-commerce, healthcare and clean-technology.
The venture has graduated its first batch of startups from its Accelerator Program in June.
With the appointment it has also opened applications for the second batch. Axilor’s CEO, Ganapathy Venugopal commented, “We are looking for gritty entrepreneurs with disruptive ideas in e-commerce, healthcare and clean-tech.”
The second batch will start in September 2015 and the applications are open till 10 August 2015.
