Ahmedabad Based Food Tech Startup, Jolly Food Fellow, Gets $300K

Ahmedabad-based a food technology mobile application, Jolly Food Fellow, has raised around $300K (INR 2 Cr.) led by Suvas Barot, the Managing Director of Creative Infocity Ltd., who invested in the project via its incubation setup The 1947.

As a part of his investment plans, Suvas plans to invest around $750K (INR 5 Cr.) till March 2016.

Launched by Rajiv Sharma and Niraj Harlalka, the startup wants to bridge the gap between the food vendors and the customers. It lets vendors understand their customers well by providing them complete details including – who is coming, what they eat and how many times they visit.

Its target audience are those food vendors who are operating through ecommerce platforms and are not empowered with such detailers data on customers.

Jolly Food Fellow app is currently operational in in Ahmedabad. The company is planning to expand its chain to metro cities of Mumbai and Bangalore in few months.  with the funds raised.

Rajiv Sharma said that they will also work on to add more detail analytics of customers which will help vendors identify repetitive clients (actual customer base) and provide value addition to them, which can be monetised on a regular basis.

Recently in this space, Pune-based personalized food recommendation app, Quinto, had raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Faaso’s Jaydeep Barman.
