Airbus BizLab is relatively a new initiative from Airbus that aims at bringing external innovation from startups into the Airbus ecosystem. The first BizLab was set up in Toulouse, France in March 2015 and since then; two more BizLabs have come into existence; one in Hamburg, Germany and another in Bengaluru, India.
Through this partnership, Airbus BizLab aims to co-innovate with startups in the above mentioned areas to add value to Airbus and aerospace sector.
Anju Gupta, President IvyCamp stated, “Creating a connect between industry, innovators and our educational institutes is very important to help drive innovation to address practical everyday problems that the industry is facing. To help these innovators on the path to success requires a daily engagement with the experts in that industry, resources to prototype and test, and access to markets to validate. We believe that Airbus BizLab will provide this opportunity to deserving startups and we are very excited to partner with them.”
This partnership is in line with IvyCamp’s broader objective to create a greater connect between industry and innovation. The announcement follows Ivy Camp’s last month’s announcement of the second season of Rendezvous IoT (RIOT-2) in association with Nasscom 10,000 Startups.
Supported by the Government of Maharashtra and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, the event will be central for IoT (Internet of Things)-focussed startups to connect with seasoned mentors, angel investors, and venture capitalists.
Prior to that in September 2016, IvyCamp entered into a partnership with Zhucloud, an initiative of Incapital to provide Chinese investors access to Indian startups. Before that, in April 2016, IvyCap raised about $45 Mn (INR 300 Cr) for the first close of its second fund of $90 Mn (INR 600 Cr).
IvyCap’s areas of investing comprise healthcare, education, food-based businesses, technology, ecommerce, and mcommerce domains. The venture firm generally invests INR 25 Cr -INR 30 Cr ($4 Mn-$5 Mn) picking up 25%-35% stake in each of its portfolio companies.
