Bangalore-based advertising SaaS startup GreedyGame has announced the appointment of Samuel John as Head of Operations.

John will be helping the company in its endeavours to scale up business by expanding its reach in the Middle East and the South East Asia region.

John said, “Native advertising is undoubtedly the future of mobile advertising and GreedyGame is pioneering in this business of meaningful user-friendly ad experiences. I’m thrilled to be joining the GreedyGame family as we work towards bringing a global revolution in the way brands reach customers and the way users perceive these brands and their messages.”

Prior to this, John has worked for almost five years at mobile ad network startup InMobi. He was the Director of Operations at InMobi and was an integral part of InMobi’s international operations. Besides, John has also worked at Google and JWT.

Earlier in May, InMobi’s CFO Manish Dugar had also quit and joined Healthcare startup Practo.

On John’s appointment, Arpit Jain, CEO of GreedyGame said, “Sam joins us at a great time in our journey. We are at a stage where we’ve started focusing more on building processes that help scale our product to different publishers and advertisers across geographies. He comes in with very good experience in this domain and we are really excited to have him on board.”

GreedyGame was founded in 2013 by IIT duo Arink Verma and Arpit Jain. The startup is a native advertising platform that enables branding on the mobile space. It helps get rid of the intrusive banner ads on mobile games by enabling dynamic native advertising within games which helps both the brands and game developers. By this, the brands get a chance to reach out to their audience contextually, while game developers get an opportunity to monetise their in-game assets.

GreedyGame presently has more than 1 Mn daily active users working with 50+ games in India, including industry biggies such as Nazara, Reliance, Games2win, Octro, Nextwave, Hungama, Disney, and more. The startup has also worked with top brands such as PepsiCo, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Gatorade, Vespa, Airtel, Fastrack, EA, Amazon, Marico, among others.
