Bangalore-based startup Infurnia, a provider of virtual reality technology for the furniture segment, has raised $160K in a funding round from UAE-based venture capital firm Idein Ventures.
As part of the deal, Mumbai-based serial entrepreneur Ashwin Srivastava, co-founder of Idein Ventures, will join Infurnia’s board.
Founded in 2014 by Lovepreet Mann, Nikhil Kumar and Parul Jain, Infurnia, is a technology startup that provides cutting edge customisation and virtualization technologies to furniture companies. This technology helps users to reconstruct their rooms, while experimenting on different looks of their interior.
Infurnia’s in-development “Room Virtualisation” technology will enable users to create a digital replica of their rooms in seconds. This, coupled with their “Furniture Customisation” technology, which allows users to interactively customise their furniture in 3D, promises to provide them with an unparalleled buying experience. Infurnia works with established furniture sellers, empowering them with technologies to exhibit their furniture catalogue to the retail customers.
Currently, the company has a team eight member, and it will use the raised capital to expand its tech and business team. “We are most keen to work with experienced early joiners for business model development, marketing, sales and technology, who can take leadership roles in respective stream”, said Nikhil Kumar.
Operating in this space is Karnataka-based startup, HomeLane, an online provider of modular kitchen and other home furnishing solutions. Recently, it launched its innovative virtual reality-based device called the Kaleido. The device helps to check out a 3D rendition of kitchen (or any room), with the ability to customise different setups such as changing colours, appliances and finishes.
