Indian Grahak, an online grocery delivery startup, has acquired Jamshedpur-based Dyscover, a hyperlocal online marketplace in a cash and stock deal.

Founded in July, 2015 by NIT Jamshedpur undergrads Nikhil Raj, Sharique Samsudheen and Rohit Vineet, Dyscover is an online platform which ensures the availability of all products and free delivery within hours. The startup serves in the grocery, personal care, mobile accessories and books and stationery categories.

Currently, the startup processes around 70-80 orders a day during the weekends and around 40-50 orders on weekdays with the average ticket size being INR 1200+. The platform, currently, has over 1100 registered customers since its inception.

India Grahak is an ecommerce platform enabling small retail grocery stores and supermarkets to reach out to potential customers and provides them with an online presence. Currently, it operates out of Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Ranchi.

The hyperlocal ecosystem in East India is comparatively weaker than the rest of the country and growth is slow. The acquisition will help India Grahak further strengthen its presence and offer a more efficient service to its consumers in East India.
