IBM has announced the winners of its startup challenge, IBM Smartcamp for Deeptech in India. The finals were held in Bengaluru on December 17, 2016.
The event showcased startups from sectors such as IoT, big data & analytics, security, storage, BI, mobile, cognitive & machine learning, blockchain, social, infrastructure services management, and Cloud.
The jury panel included Vani Kola, Managing Director, Kalaari Capital; Sanjay Mehta, angel investors; Willie Tejada, IBM Chief Developer Advocate of IBM Digital Business Group; Anil Joshi, founder, Unicorn Ventures; Sateesh Andra, co-Founder, Endya Ventures; Dulles Krishnan, Director, IBM Commerce, APAC; Samir Kumar, Managing Director, Inventus Venture; Ranjeeth Menon, Executive Director, IDG Ventures; Denny Kurien, President, Kieretsu Forum, Bengaluru Chapter; and Rema Subramanium, co-founder, Ankur Capital.
The first prize at the event was bagged by Fluid AI and Emotix and SigTuple Technologies were selected as the first and second runners-up, respectively.
Here Are The Top 10 Finalists Of The Event
Fluid AI: Fluid AI uses its own proprietary custom-built software packages to understand depth data passed by the camera and to process voice data provided by the microphone. It recognises if the system undertook the relevant action as desired by the user or the user had to redo his action either via gesture or voice.
Emotix: Emotix has launched India’s first child companion robot, ‘Miko’ – who engages, entertains and educates through conversation. Emotionally intelligent, Miko can adapt to a child’s needs.
SigTuple Technologies: SigTuple aims to provide healthcare solutions by analysing blood samples and detecting different diseases using technology-powered tools. In simple terms, the startup looks to revolutionise the global medical diagnostic space through data-driven intelligence.
Appiyo Technologies: Appiyo is a private social and computing platform on cloud and mobile for actionable big data, IOT, and tasks on mobility devices. It provides ‘Actionable (Structured) Messaging’ to bring about a behavioural change in how one interacts with the computing world using actionable messaging with-in instant messengers.
Merxius: Merxius is a technology innovation company that builds products using augmented reality, virtual reality, interactive, and web technologies.
GenCrunch: GenCrunch uses bill data to reduce costs for retail chains, increase their footfall and sales. This is done via cross-selling across the network having identified customers for targeted campaigns using data analytics.
Clean Slate: Clean Slate uses advanced machine learning algorithms to identify unique patterns of magnetic fields in indoor venues. Its SDK then detects smartphones in those venues by matching those patterns based on data fusion of MEMS sensors from smartphones like magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope.
KrypC Technologies: KrypC helps businesses understand, explore and adopt Blockchain technology with minimal coding and tech knowledge. With its Distributed Ledger Technology, it also educates businesses and individuals on the components, benefits, and practical applicability of Blockchain.
NeuroEquillibrium Diagnostics: NeuroEquilibrium Diagnostics Systems Pvt. Ltd is a super-speciality healthcare chain of vertigo and balance disorders clinics. It aims to cater to the gap that exists between the huge number of vertigo, dizziness, and balance disorder patients and the lack of targeted treatment in India.
Staqu Technologies: Staqu is automating the task for ecommerce to ease of search of unstructured products, trend analysis for fashion products, automated product description generation.
