Google To Host Contest For Early Stage Startups; Winner To Get Direct Entry Into Launchpad Accelerator Program

Google has shortlisted 5 startups who will get a chance to pitch at the Startup India Standup India on the 16th January.

Google is running a contest where people can vote for their favourite startup. The selected startups include Reap Benefit, Cardiac Design Labs, Guru-G, SlamdunQ and Sbalabs Pvt. Ltd. – Jackboy Sense & Kalink. Out of five, the top three startups will receive an invite to join the next Google Launchpad Week.

The startups will be judged by eminent panel comprising of key VCs, Google global leaders and Government Representatives. One final winner will get a chance to join the Google’s Launchpad Accelerator Program in July 2016, provided they meet the program criteria.

Commenting on the program, Rajan Anandan, VP & Managing Director, Google South East Asia & India said, “We’re delighted to carry forward the vision and align with ‘Start-up India Stand Up India’ efforts, with a special session focussing on early stage startups by providing them a platform to present their ideas to the world under our Launchpad Program.”

Brief About The Shortlisted Five startup:

Reap Benefit:  Bangalore-based Reap Benefit was founded in 2013 by Kuldeep Dantewadia and Gautam Prakash. It is a social enterprise, which aims to solve local environment & civic problems.

Cardiac Design Labs: Bangalore-based Cardiac Design Lab was founded in 2011 by Anand Madanagopal and Mosin Badkar. It is engaged in design, development and deployment of ‘state of the art next generation medical products’. Its MIRCaM (Mobile Intelligent Remote Cardiac Monitor) comprehensive suite provides real time analysis and generates instant alarms on episode detection, thus enhancing patient care and safety.

Guru-G: Founded in May 2013, by Amruth Ravindranath, Shivananda Salgame and  Anand Joshi, Guru-G, converts existing content into adaptive teaching packs. These packs provide adaptive in-class guidance to teachers on different ways in which they can teach.

SlamdunQ: Founded in August 2014, by Madhuvanthi, Sakhee Mody and Venkat Ramachandran Bangalore based, SlamdunQ, focuses primarily on using wearable technology to unleash sporting potential. Using Smartwatches and SmartBands available in the market, they develop applications for these wearables to improve their clients’ sporting potential.

Sbalabs Pvt. Ltd. – Jackboy Sense & Kalink: Kalink is aimed at harvesting carbon from pollution and generate printing ink. The journey started in 2013 when Arpit and Kushagra at IIT Delhi took lead and enabled ground testing of toxicity, quality of capture etc. Currently, Kalink is on a mission of repurposing pollution’s carbon capture to industrial grade raw material for printing industry (inks, pigments, paints etc.)
