Google has acquired Toronto-based enterprise software company, Synergyse, for an undisclosed amount.
Started in 2013, Synergyse, was founded by an Indian-origin entrepreneur Varun Malhotra. It is an interactive training system for Google Apps that provides guided instruction inside the apps.
As part of the acquisition, Google will make Synergyse Training for Google Apps available for free to all Google Apps customers.
Google Apps Operations Senior Director Peter Scocimara said in a blog post that Google and its thousands of Google Apps customers have been excited about Synergyse.
According to Google, its apps are built to provide cloud-based productivity and communications, which is claimed to now being used by more than 2 Mn paying businesses. Google’s App product suite includes Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs and more.
Scocimara added, “As more businesses sign up, we wanted an elegant way to scale our training offerings to our customers and our customers’ users. With voice and text interactive modules that are searchable by topic within its apps, Synergyse will help users get up to speed quickly – including when new features are rolled out.”
On the other side, Synergyse said that by joining the Google Apps team, it can accelerate its mission because the company will be working closer with the teams that build Google Apps.
