Cloud-based internet domain name enterprise GoDaddy has launched a community-based app called Flare that aims to materialise business ideas into reality.
Flare offers a platform for its users to share ideas with entrepreneurs with an immediate feedback. Users can also become advisors for the entrepreneurial community via the app. They can share their insights and knowledge regarding various disciplines.
Commenting on the app, Tina Nguyen, Director of Product Management and co-creator, Flare said, “We created Flare because we recognise that whether you’ve just had a fleeting thought and want to explore where you might be able to take it, or you’ve been dreaming of starting your own business, Flare is the first place to go for someone that wants to the take the next step.”
While using the app, users see new business ideas from their community and they can swipe left to ‘skip’ the idea, swipe right to ‘snooze’ to view later or tap to learn more and ‘love’ an idea.
If the idea gets a stipulated number of ‘loves’, the ideator behind it can use the platform to ask questions and gain feedback regarding the idea. Users can further start following the idea and at the same time vouch to become a future customer when the idea materialises. This feature aims to provide the potential entrepreneur with insights regarding the demand for their product and services.
Talking about the app, Rajiv Sodhi, MD and Vice President, GoDaddy India and Australia, said, “Flare aptly suits the current business environment in India. India currently ranks third in the global startup ecosystem. The Government’s push to the ‘Startup’ community through multiple initiatives and improving ease of doing business is likely to promote the entrepreneurial activities further in the country; with several business ideas seeing the light of the day. Flare is where the seeds of ideas go to be nurtured and developed.”
The app includes features like Top Charts that displays 20 most popular ideas within a user’s community on any given day. The login to the app is enabled via both Facebook and Linkedin.
Entrepreneurs and followers can post comments, questions, and updates and they can also engage in quick polls for better feedbacks regarding pricing, desirability, feasibility etc.
Flare is currently available on Android and iOS.
